Levolux supports stadium legacy project

The legacy use of a stadium is not easy to predict. Let's take Arsenal Football Club's Highbury Stadium, built in 1913, for example. While it hosted preliminary football matches during the 1948 Olympic Games and despite several redevelopment projects, its use as a sports venue ended in May 2006.

While Arsenal Football Club moved into its new stadium nearby, the old Grade II listed stadium, with its art deco style stands, was converted into luxury apartments, which were completed in 2008.

The residential development, known as ‘The Stadium’, comprises more than 710 luxury apartments and features an advanced Levolux Solar Shading solution.

The East and West stands of the development, which have been converted from sloping seated terraces into modern, energy efficient apartments, feature Levolux’s 9000 Fin Solar Shading System working at high level. The system comprises of a series of horizontal, aluminium trapezoidal 200mm x 50mm Louvres, which shield glazed areas from direct sunlight.
By shading glazed areas, the grey powder coated Louvres effectively minimise solar heat gain, thereby reducing the need for expensive cooling systems. While residents benefit from a naturally cool, comfortable environment, they also appreciate unobstructed views across the landscaped grounds and plenty of bright, natural daylight which filters through.

In addition, up at roof level on the East and West stands, Levolux Screening Louvres screen unsightly roof top plant areas, providing a robust and aesthetic finish which compliments the overall scheme design. The aluminium ‘S’ profile Louvres, finished with the same coordinated grey powder coating, ensure essential roof top plant and equipment remain cool throughout the year with good ventilation and effective solar shading.

Highbury Holdings’ ‘The Stadium’ housing project is another in a long line of high profile builds where Levolux is truly making a difference to the environment, for communities and individuals. Levolux’s success on this project underlines its position at the top of the league for flagship developments, whether they be 'new build' or 'refurbishment' projects.

All products in Levolux’s Solar Shading range can be custom designed to fit almost any project brief for the best results, time and time again. For truly effective energy efficiency with eye-catching aesthetics, Levolux Fins can be configured to compliment any scheme with a choice of materials, profiles and finishes.

Like all Solar Shading systems from Levolux, the Fins and Louvres used on this development are backed by the company’s design, manufacture and installation package, along with a three year warranty.

In contrast to the summer of 1948, well-heeled residents at the exclusive Highbury Square development will be able to enjoy extra time this summer watching the sporting action in complete comfort, thanks to an effective Solar Shading solution by Levolux.
